Product Manager / Technical-Account Manager

We have a pressing need for a talented technical video enthusiast who will live and breathe our product and who will split her/his duties between internal product management and customer-facing technical implementation.

The Product Management portion includes taking responsibility for the process of the product pipeline from concept through delivery, ensuring that launched products are coherent, holistic and ready for market. Responsibilities include:

  • Be the go-to resource for information about the entire product. i.e. Know every product feature and the permutations for how those intersect with the users’ experience.
  • Usher ideas and features through prioritization, design, UX, software architecture, development, QA, and launch.
  • Ensure releases happen on a regular basis, facilitating communication between team members, and make sure the overall goals for the product are being met.
  • Help perform market analysis, monitor internal and external analytics, field and troubleshoot support requests, triage bug reports and see that the product hits the mark.
  • Know the latest product management software, have experience running standups/scrums, post mortems, iterations/sprints, and generally be able to wrangle a large team.
  • Be incredibly organized and detail oriented. Have technical knowhow, be knowledgeable about web practices, and well versed in modern video technology and solutions. Be able to handle different personality types, a landscape of ever-shifting schedules and goals, and routinely hit your milestones.

The Technical Account Management portion includes handholding our enterprise clients through exploratory conversation to a launched and stable in-the-wild project, and using technical expertise to evaluate and develop new business opportunities. Responsibilities include:

  • Be able to represent Rapt Media in everything technical in high-level sales meetings and partnership talks.
  • Be well versed in the product and know its limitations and potential; where it can be leveraged and where it will flop.
  • Be able to trouble-shoot technical problems, suggest project building solutions, and be able to think on the fly.
  • Be able to triage and address client concerns, and really dig in to help at a moment’s notice. This is a two-fold duty: First, alleviating customer concerns and second, going deep enough on technical issues to parse real P1 bugs from lesser-tier bugs from customer error from customer jitters. In this support-role, the position should alleviate a significant amount of current distraction from the engineering team.
  • Provide a framework for project launch, when the customer is unable to take the lead, ensuring that (from a technical perspective) new customers have an exceptionally sturdy and smooth launch of their first interactive video.
